De’Soda Sisters is a Tuscan italian folk band formed in 2011. The name of the project is an ironic tribute to a Tuscan town called Rosignano Solvay and to the pollution due to the famous baking soda farm that makes the “white sands” and the sea “clear” but not clean!
The band currently comprises Benedetta Pallesi (vocals, acoustic guitar, glockenspiel, kazoo), Lisa Santinelli (vocals, electric mandolin, cigar box, kazoo) and Veronica Bigontina (vocals, tambourine, washboard, spoons and percussion).
The repertoire is composed by typical old Italian Folk songs, nursery rhymes, anti war songs that came from Tuscan cities as Livorno, Firenze, Lucca and from other regions of center-south of Italy, as Lazio, Puglia, Sicilia.
The band plays in many regions of Italy as Tuscany, Lombardy, Liguria, Emilia Romagna, Abruzzi, Lazio, Piedmont and it recently played in Mende (France).
In 2016 the band won the First Prize of the Oltreterra Italian Folk Contest and recorded the second album “Amore Ribelle Tra Ficattole e Zonzelle”.
